PRIORITIES OF FOOD SECURITY AND ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM OF HUNGER IN THE WORLD ECONOMY

Abstract

The article specifies the main priorities of food security and addressing the problem of hunger in the world economy. The core and food challenge manifestations in the world are investigated. UN Sustainable Development Goals are disclosed, including Goal 2 “Zero Hunger” („End hunger and malnutrition, ensure access to safe, nutritious and sufficient food, and implement sustainable agricultural practices‟). Food security situation in world regions is considered; positions of international organizations as for addressing the problem of hunger in world countries is represented. The special attention is given to resolving the hunger problems in Asian and African countries. The priorities of food security and addressing the problem of hunger in the world economy based on sustainable development principles, and mass transition to intensive and innovative agricultural practices development are defined.
