The article presents a depth-psychological analysis of the role of unconscious and hereditary drives in professional self-determination. The theoretical framework is based on psychodynamic and analytical psychology approaches, which conceptualise career choice as the result of interaction between conscious motivations and deep unconscious determinants. The empirical study employed a set of psychodiagnostic methods that made it possible to identify relationships between personality typologies, emotional preferences, and hereditary drives. The results of the correlation analysis confirm the significant role of the unconscious in the formation of professional identity and substantiate the practical applicability of the findings in career guidance and psychological counselling.
